For a good spot to go MD'ing in and around New Bern. I'm fairly new to MD'ing and i have 2 detectors a Garrett Ace 150, and a Tesoro Silver Plus from the early 90's.

If you can think of anything let me know please.

you are dead center of much civil war history...a bit of research into that should help....there are many map links posted by me either in maps or civil war threads that show fortifications/engagements/etc in your area....thomas p terrys nc treasure book shows a large hoard accidentally uncovered by grading eq while building a housing development there in the 1970s or 80s...even tells the name of the development...many thousand silver coins were recovered there.......
