Don I think it sounds like a good idea. I run an MXT ALL PRO. It's a lot simpler, no scrolling through menus and programs. Just turn on and hunt, maybe make some small adjustments but really simple and quick to do.

I agree with Chris R and the coils from your DFX are compatible with the MXT series.

Regardless of what machine you buy, you need to put in the time to learn what it's telling you.
 

Yes this I know been detecting since I was a teenager, Got my first whites 5500 in 1980. Compared to the other detectors I own and use the DFX is just a bit much.
 

I know Don, I had an xlt, it was a great machine but a pain to reconfigure on the fly.

I am looking pretty hard at the MX Sport too, but will visit a dealer and try one out before I buy. I like that I won't have to haul two machines with me on vacation because I want to hunt both land and water, and from the videos I have seen it has a great display for my old eyes. Got my fingers crossed it feels well balanced and light enough for me.
