I don't get how the heck your dirt is still crumbly dirt under that snow. My dirt here is like concrete and when you dig a dirt/ice plug by jumping on the shovel you have to break it in half over and over again with your shovel!

We have gotten SOOO lucky this year with the ground not freezing very deep...the woods were digable all through the winter, the fields were conrete-ish in January and the first half of this month, but now are thawing big time! Especially around the edges...last Sunday we had an amazing permission hunt and the ground was like butter (it was a private yard) - so happy!! Happy digging to you and wishing you lots of sunshine!
