Sorry about pictures my camera broke and now all I have is my phone Found this near a narrow gauge logging spur along with small spikes and plates (quarter is for size did not find here). kinda cool it is all steel and has what looks like leather on back side

I'm confused. looks like and is the right size for a belt buckle, but i don't think it is. Any one know? Happy hunting michiganders this site is a little slow this spring. Put down the rake and pick up detector!

It looks like an old rivet plate fastener for conveyor belt repairs.

Or off of a drive belt from steam engine that was driving some sort of tool. Buffalo hide belts from thousands of bison made the industrial revolution possible. The steam engines belt drove an overhead shaft that had belts to every other machine in the shop.

Or farmers and loggers had steam tractors or steam donkeys that drove machinery. In this photo, they are driving a corn harvester, they also ran saw mills, stationary hay balers, anything that could be powered with a steam engine.
