Lowe's Grove Elementary School Land in Durham, NC

There's land in Durham on the corner of 54 and Alston that was the location of the old Lowe's Grove School.
I used to live near there and while I was there they tore down the buildings. Now they are grading the land to build a library (so I've heard).
Anyone know how to find out who owns this land? Is it still school property or is it a historic site (off-limits).

Anyone have any info on this property? Bueller? Bueller?
