Re: "Lucky Lindy" Token.

The medal reads:

"LUCKY LINDY,

OUR DEPENDABLE INSURANCE BRINGS YOU LUCK,

MICHIGAN MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY, MAN OR MOTOR"

An uncommon and original 1927 Charles Lindbergh First Trans-Atlantic Ocean souvenir medal. The souvenir medal was made by the Michigan Mutual Insurance Company. The medal has an image of Charles Lindbergh and originally came in a paper and cardboard holder.
The holder read:
"SOUVENIR OF FIRST TRANS-ATLANTIC SOLO FLIGHT IN-HEAVIER-THAN-AIR MACHINE BY COLONEL CHARLES A. LINDBERGH, NEW YORK TO PARIS IN 33 1/2 HOURS, MAY 20TH-21ST, 1927, MICHIGAN MUTUAL LIABILITY COMPANY, DETROIT, MICHIGAN"

This past December, one sold (with its holder) for $26.50.
The word, 'luck' refers to Lindbergh's nickname: "Lucky Lindy".

Re: "Lucky Lindy" Token.

Really neat token! When my dad was a child, back in the 20s', he named his german shephard Lucky Lindy, after Charles Lindbergh. :icon_thumright:

Re: "Lucky Lindy" Token.

Thanks for the nice welcome folks, hopefully I'll have some better things to post after this dang snow melts a little more.

Re: "Lucky Lindy" Token.

Certainly not a token the ground spits out everyday. Congrats on that one.
