Picked up four boxes of halves over lunch, and had time to go through one (#74) of them:

64Px3
64DX1
65X3
66X1
67X4
68DX4
69DX3
76S Silver (not proof)
73S (proof)
05P
05D

23 keepers, and still three boxes waiting at home for me to go through yet.

Yeah, you can say I had a nice lunch. 8)

Nice!! Let us know how the other three turn out....good luck.

That was a NICE box! Congrats on all the silver and good luck on the remaining three boxes. :)

Well, the 2nd of the four "lunch boxes" from yesterday, from the same bank as the first and #75 for the year; only coughed up an '04P and '05D.

The 3rd box, the first of two from another bank, and #76 for the year; proved to be a skunk.

I'll go through #77 today..........and will be picking up two new boxes; also today.

With a few exceptions, CRHing is like a rollercoaster. You've just got to enjoy the ride. 8)

Returned the rejects from the first three of these boxes yesterday and stopped at a few other banks on my way back.

First stop: $150 in loose rolls - skunk

Second stop: Tellers had no halves, but I offered to buy the halves in their coin counter ($388). The vault teller said that bag had been there quite a while; as the plastic was already yellowing. (my mind raced with anticipation)

There were (of course) some non halves in there as well:

'80 Mexican 1 peso
'04 Mexican 10 pesos
'87 New Zealand 20 cent piece
'67 US quarter
Ryko car wash token
car key

Discount those and there were roughly 770 haves...............and I pulled 49 keepers (over 6%) !

90%ers (33)

'53s (a Franklin I didn't have yet)
'54dx2
'64px11 (almost all were AU !)
'64dx19 (almost all were AU !)

40%ers (12)

'65x1 (AU !)
'66x1
'67x7
'68dx3

post '01 (4)

'03px1
'03dx3

I do love looking through bags of halves and cherrypicking the silver edges...............before going through the rest to ensure I capture them all. That bag was a definite rush !

Last bank stop picked up $68 in loose halves and it had one keeper.......................a '68d (of, course). :D

Still have that fourth box from Wednesday lunch to go through.....and two more boxes I picked up on my way home last night.

Happy Friday the 13th everyone and Happy CRHing !!!!

Nice job Thurm!!

To finish this thread, the fourth box of halves from Wednesday lunch (and #77 for the year) gave up two proofs (79 & 93 (cupro-nickel)); both of which I didn't have yet.
