I picked this up today because I had a thought it might be good to see what's around on a Monday morning at the thrift stores near by. I'm sure the box isn't original to the set and there are some soft bags that have a May D&F logo on them. Researching is hinting they may be from the later 1950s. It cost under nine dollars. I'm gonna go back to this same thrift store again here soon. Could be more overlooked treasure to be had.

Great score! Would not have suspected sterling just by looking at them--an unusual pattern.

That's what they maybe thought. They were thrown off being part plastic.

Good score. Lunt’s “Contrast” pattern with the nylon handles was designed by Nord Bowlen and was part of their range from 1956-1960.

Thank you RC. So nylon is the material then. There is handle by itself and one of the spoons has a crack near a rivet. I'm just wounder if this nylon may have become weaker or brittle with age. You definitely shouldn't put a lot of leverage on them imo.
