M on 1926 Quarter

'M' on 1926 Quarter

Hi folks
Can someone tell me what the small M stands for?
There is a S to the left of the date and a stamped M to the right.

S stands for mint mark and M i think it is a designer of a coin.

Hermon MacNeil was the designer. The "M" is his initial.
