M6 or sov gt

GT all the way.. easy to use, goes deeper, and loves black sand.. works great in types of sand and dirt.. m6, too limitied, not good in shallow salt water, not good in wet sand..go with the gt. you won't regret it.

you can get 2 or 3 used m6s for the price of one used GT. Don't think i've ever read or heard a bad thing about the sov.

Here's a few bads things. Fairly heavy. Requires a slower than average sweep speed. Design means that at minimum discrimination setting bigger iron is being rejected than many sites require.

For wet sand the Sovereign, even an older type will beat the M6 hands down but on the dry top of the beach you could cover twice the ground with the Whites and take the modern losses off before they work their way down to the wet areas.

You could consider the T2 which works suprisingly well on both wet and dry sand and will keep up or beat other detectors on land as well. Really though you can't really beat having one detector specifically for the wet and another for the dry and you don't end up without a machine if repair/tune up is needed.
