No idea what this is. It is set in a handmade sterling bezel or holder. Semi transparent. Measures about 2" long and 1" wide. It's been polished. Any ideas?

That's a gnarly looking lung. I'm thinking crack smoker with cystic fibrosis :-o

Or just an agate. I digress LOL...not sure what would naturally give it that color, don't think it's possible. My money is on artificial dye. Unfortunately ppl find the need to dye agates, not sure why...

Agate most likely. Funky colors though!

I think I would call it carnelian agate.
Carnelian because of the red color and agate because of the banding.
Very pretty piece.

The first photo makes it look like a form of agate called "ocean jasper", an orbicular agate from Madagascar. Yes, there is an infinite variety of colors and patterns in agates from around the world and many are spectacular examples of nature's beauty.

It is Tampa Bay fossil coral. The oranges and reds are the most collectible, I like the blues myself. Nicely done stone, it will hold a good polish as it is mostly quartz.
