Magnetic Button

Hello. I dug this the other day. I found it together just like it's shown in the first pic. The rivet looking part has a capital H with a series of rings around it. Thought purse flap fastener but it doesn't look like ones online. Any guesses?

thanks, DCMatt. i looked at that possibility. but on my thing, the hole in the magnetic 'stud' part goes all the way through and it's rather thick to accommodate the longer 'rivet.' and the 'rivet' part is somewhat decorative so it'd likely be visible.
