Maine pottery

Heres some pottery sherds from Maine.A couple different types.A couple have hole both drilled all the way through and one punched in but not through.I have the very base tip and a very tick piece that's right at an inch thick.

Looks like you found some connecting pieces. Nice pottery shards. They make great shadow box displays!

Is pottery scarce up there? I get excited when I find it here because it’s very uncommon, other places it sounds like it’s scattered everywhere and on the same level as debitage.

Me too in one small area, a midden, makes me think the mussel shells may help the preservation.

That is the case with bone.I would say ground stability has alot to do with it.
