Preforms to me are sometimes pretty cool to check out. They tell their own story. Each every bit if not more unique than the intended finished product. This due to what ever unfinished stage they were found in.These two....one a point and the other possibly a spear. The point shows signs of unsuccessful thinning and was left with a piece still left on.The second larger point shows numerous step-fractures in the attempt to thin it which never happened.......mjm.............snow on ground=looking at and posting preforms IMG_20141202_075053_687.webp

These appear to be more tool than pre-forms.
Butchering tools and or scrapers.

nice,i like too check them out also

Stuff like that is good to collect if one is attempting to collect as complete an assemblage as possible to document a site.
Some folks pass on forms and crude tools, but they document the kind of activity taking place at a site and help round out the story the site tells. The gouges and points might light up a room, but everything man made is important in creating a true site assemblage.

Interesting... The one on the left is clearly an effigy of a bear lying down, head and snout turned slightly to the right... in repose... (snark alert ;)) But I'm w/ Charlie on this- the more you can gather, the more you can understand the site for sure. Thanks for the look!
