Major lamination error?

I found this 1944-P war nick back in my first few months of hunting in early 2014. I remembered I had done some reasearch then and came to the conclusion that Its a lamination error, but now that I'm aware of how to upload pics to the site I thought I'd ask the people I know will have the true answer. The obverse is completely normal. I really don't think Its PMD; the letters in "monticello" and the building Itself still show "before" and "past" the section that is odd.

Seems you have quite the die crack there. I think the rest is just normal wear though.
