Hi all,

Recently found this item while relic hunting. Thought it was a buckle with the brilliant signal it let off.It looks like maybe a makeup holder? Found deep in the woods among CW relics. It seems to be silver coated, you can see another metal underneath. It is about 2 1/2 by 2 inches in diameter. Ill post some pictures and hope to get a good ID/ approx date for this.

It does look like a compact, a make-up holder, like you said. The strange part to me is the inside bottom that seems to flip up at both ends. Have never seen one like that. Good luck. Neat find! -Noodle

Rouge and powder compartments. Not early enough to be CW, probably teens to twentys or a little later.
