And they deposited them at the bank? How do you take a silver round as money? Something fishy about this whole story...I could see a clerk accepting them if he/she planned to buy them out of the drawer but how did they even know how to count it for the deposit slip? It doesn't say "one dollar" on it.
 

I took a guy to the liquor store when I was 19 (yes underage...sorry). He was in the passenger seat and wanted three 40oz beers. When he gave me the money to pay it was all in silver dollars. I put them in my pocket and payed with my paper money. I still have them to this day. That was 24 years ago. I believe the dates are 1898, 1904 (?), and 1921. I can only assume he stole them, but who knows...

i had 2. 1898
1. 1902
2. 1904 one damaged a deep scratch,
4. 1921,
and 3. 1923 2 were 1923s
and 1. 1888 gold dollar

and a 1890s bowie knife, something like this one

these were a 12th bday gifts from grandmother and grandfather, these things and other stuff
less valuable to me, were stolen in late april early march of 1985, from the ohio city area
im just curious, thanks
 

cw, these were found in Valencia County, NM, but they could easily have "traveled" thru the yeras.

i was quoting glassyeyed statement, because he/she is from NE ohio, and was wondering
if that is where he got the coins, he is talking about, thats where i lived when the theft happened
sorry for any confusion
