Marble?

Found this while scratching around for arrowheads. It has some of the white coating wore off exposing the inner material that seems to be clay. The red stain on the inner material is due to the soil. Is this a marble or is it something else. Thanks for the help.

At that size and with no decoration, I'd say chances are more likely it's a pump check valve ball or something along those lines rather than a marble.
