I think you are right...IMG_1549.webp the back of your medal says Ira Green Inc. they are the largest maker of medals, uniform related accessories, military decorations etc...
the company started in 1943...the piece in the photo is a early type medal, I bet yours is from the 1940's as well.

The manufacturers code, G23, dates this to the late 1960's.

edit: I should have said "at the earliest". As pointed out below it could be newer.

Some of my badges still have that code on them an I got those in 99
