These artifacts are a part of a close friends late father’s collection. I couldn’t believe it when they pulled this out of a chest filled with artifacts.

Would probably be a large blank or preform taken from quarry site to work on later the long flat spot on its odd looking

Northern Florida has a lot of those big uniface tools. Lots are paleo, but they continued into the Archaic as well.

The large blank appears to have a bit on it.........and could be a hoe. Nice collection of artifact finds.

As others stated, a quarry blank / preform awaiting further refinement. As with all preforms, it could be used as is for various cutting / chopping tasks. A good find IMO.

I’m sure it’s not an ax, and judging from the edge-work apparent on it i am pretty sure it’s more than a quarry blank.

For sure, it’s very nice whatever it is!
