Weather a little colder but still pretty good for this time of year.
We were starting to get out of the most concentrated spot, so we predicted 20 Roman coins (max). The 33 we ended up with after 4.5 hours is another best day total for this site!
The Deus Fast program is one I really like, I dug 3 individual small coins in the same hole as medium iron & I could hear both signals. I also find the pinpointing easier than the XP GMP, it's seems to be where I expect & not a little back from where I think. This makes the first grap almost spot-on everytime & the first dig out not in dangers way (ie. too close to the find). This increase in recovery of items, can only speed up my already fast detecting style. I have to laugh a little when I get the odd comment about being on my knee's. Bend & grab, simple. Field hunting has some pace if you do large area searching/gridding, & for Dad & I it needs to be quick.

33 Roman Coins
Tudor Button
Roman Pinhead
Broken Roman Plate Brooch
6th C Saxon Cruciform Brooch Bit - never had this type with a head & 2 opposing birds - reminds me of Odin & the 2 Ravens.8-)

Good to have such a site on hand and the right weather too! Started snowing here today...

more of that really neat old ancient stuff. What might have that figure 8 "I guess its' a buckle" in lower right last pic have been used for, or went too?

Good question, good spot. Its far too small for a buckle, and as it has wear its a (Roman) junction of some sort, that I have never seen. Tiny. Maybe a link, metal to metal, rather than leather/metal/leather, but I have no good clue. Very small & unusual.

UPDATE:

Roman Coin picture added to top.
