Here's the short story. Dumped my halves, and the lady brings back my bags and ticket. We start chatting and she brings up that a lady came in last week with hundreds.... Yes hundreds of rolls of wheats cents... They run the coin themselves so they took in all the rolls and ran them through the machine one x one... Which she said it took over an hour...She mentions she's is going to buy a bag herself.... So I ask, knowing they've told me they don't allow it, if I may buy a bag. She says I'll check and a few minutes later she has a $50 bag for me!!!!!!!

This bag is the first bag they filled up so it had memorial cents in it from previous customers coin run through before it filled up. If I'm not mistaken there are a few more bags back there.... Possibly just wheat cents.... :censored:
Going back soon to see if I can't charm my way into another bag. Here's the tally

Total wheaties - 1,085
1930s - 34
1920s - 13
1910s - 11 ('17, and the rest '18 & '19)
44 Canadian - '46 & '54
A few red cents (if I'm using that term right)
Holes filled in album - '18s, '19s, '21, '24s, 35d

I've not ran through the 40's and 50's. No steel cents. Not exactly sure what to do with over 1,000 wheat cents :laughing7: here's some pics

Very nice ! You gotta love tellers like that !! Get some nice big mason jars and stash them away .

Sometimes timing is everything.
I was making a daily deposit one day from a business I worked at and asked the teller if anyone had brought in any coin rolls lately...a regular person, not a business.
She says yes, some guy had just brought in a bunch of rolls so I bought 4 one cent rolls to take home and look through because I like to search for wheaties.
I dumped them out and saw a whole lot of dirty wrecked coins and got mad...I had bought another hunter's rolls of dug coins.
Then I looked closer, this was not dirt but rust, I ended up with 199 steel wheat cents and one modern memorial.
They must have been kept in a damp basement or something because if the rust but I knew how to clean them, a little bath in two tablespoons of lemon juice and one tablespoon of water knocked that rust right off...made them all look great.

Mine, and yours, are usually worth a little more than just one cent so that is something at least.

Very nice score. Tellers can make all the difference in this hobby. Now the question I'm sure most will be thinking when they read this thread. When is the lady bringing in the cache of silver halves that were sitting with the cents? 🤔

Just hold em! You can never have too many wheats around.

It don't get any better than that! Way to go!!

No more to come unfortunately. Pretty sure the branch bought the rest up. Oh well, got a little piece

Like the old breakfast commercial: "Wheaties, breakfast of champions ". Congrats on the big score.

Outstanding clean job!!! She's looks great!!!!

That's an incredible find, congrats!
