May Upgrade To Cortes

I have had my Deleon for a couple of months now and I love it. I am thinking of purchasing a Cortes. First question: Are the TID numbers the same on both detectors? I have gotten used to what number is what on my Deleon and I don't want to start learning new numbers if different on the Cortes. Second question: Am I going to get more depth from the Cortes? I am assuming they would be about the same. Third: Do I part with the Deleon to get the Cortes? Thanks for any help.

The basic electronics are the same on the Cortes and the Deleon. They added some great features on to the Cortes. So the numbers and depth are the same,but of course you will get much more target information on the Cortes. The third question about whether to keep the Deleon: The machines are too much alike for you to use both I think. You will end up just using the Cortes.
The resale value is high on the Deleon so you should do well selling it. Joe

Thanks again Joe for all your help. I was thinking the same thing.....get a nice price for the Deleon and put that towards the Cortes. I will of coarse get it from you once I get the ducks in a row. I'm getting excited already! Do you suggest I sell the Deleon on Ebay? Do you want to buy it back? Shane

Here's my take


IF you can afford it KEEP The Deleon!

When my EX II got sick and had to be sent in for repair I used the Deleon! Also I carry it with me and have let several home owners use it. That has helped me get permission.

Detectors are kind of like guns to me. Once you have it hold on to it because once it's gone you have heck trying to get one to replace it!!!

The Cortes is almost the same exact machine as the Deleon the only major difference is the manual Ground Balance on the Cortes. Good luck!
