one more step and i would of been out of the field. it is notched in the middle of the base (one side is broken) it also has heavy grinding in the base. warren county ohio find

An exhausted base notched dovetail would be my guess.

Without seeing it up close it could also be a Kirk Corner Notch with a few dings!
