Maybe a ring?

Found where an early/mid 1800s house was. It is heavy and I'm pretty sure it's brass but not positive. The only thing I can think of is a homemade ring?

I believe it is a ring made from an old brass bushing/bearing. I have a few bushings like that, the hole was for lubrication. Cool find!!
