I have subscribed to the USDA Forest Service public announcement email list and received an email today
regarding the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument.
And from what I gather, it looks as though they want to
increase the size of the Monument to include the remaining " northwest end" of the Angeles forest.
This is most of the Soledad canyon and Mount Gleason range dropping down into the Santa Clarita river
and it looks like part of the Little Tujunga/ Pacomia area.

The link also has info for public response to this proposal.
A number of public dates as well as where to send letters in response.
I have not dug to deep into the info yet and not read it all, so I don't know for sure.
But I figure anything the Forest service is planning, is not in the Prospectors favor.
Just passing this link along to anyone in the So Cal area who will be effected by this.
