I thought the maynard shot a 3 ring miniball? I have some complete cartridges somewhere. I will have to find them and post them up.

I have three books on Civil War Projectiles, chiefly Mason and McKee [my bullet is number 75 on pg. 26] and I have only found one ring Maynards, but I am far from expert so I will keep looking.

You guy's are killing me , lol

Never got one of those either , to find one still in the Casing would be cool .

In my handbook the .36 & .50 caliber bullets look like the ones pictured there are 2 other .50 caliber variants pictured (1 has a single large ring & has a small cone cavity) kinda like a 52 Sharps variant . & The other has a less defined ring and is said to have a 'rounded cavity that is (0.205 ) deep'. Oh there is 1 more pictured ..or 2 # 80 & 81 that have their tips cut off.....interesting.
