roy worked with the "irish" westies * my union I belonged to was the "SIU" -their "headquarters " for many years was 675 4th ave brooklyn read "the death merchant" the rise and fall of edwin p. wilson ..true stuff-- siu / cia link the works .
real "pro" hitmen - you never hear of -- they just make folks "disappear" ala jimmy hoffa -- drop em in a hot molten vat of steel --poof its all gone bye bye evidence --no body , no crime as roy was famous for saying *
Ivan, you of all will appreciate this little tidbit Richard K aka The Iceman, worked for Roy for a few years.. His other connection is that he was one of the gunmen on Roy hit, and left Roy in his cars trunk near Coney Island, Brooklyn
No one knew of the Iceman until he was arrested for another crime in NJ. It is also believed that he was hit in jail, supposedly poisoned by Sammy The Bull Gravano
Not really bigscoop. I've hung with a few wise guys and associates in the 70's.. They were down to earth guys for the most part, but one in particular would have his personality change within seconds. It really reminded me of Tommy in Goodfellas. Through them I was also able to go to some really exclusive clubs in NY for free, all I had to do was mention who sent me. One night they were talking about about some guy they just made disappear at "Gleason's Gym", they talked about it like most would discuss sports. Most you would never even have known they led 2 lives, but they are unique. Funny thing is that I did read about one of them getting arrested this year in Brooklyn, I recognized his nickname "Big Red" Never knew what happen to his case, nor will I look it up..
When a child, I didn't live too far from where they filmed "A Bronx Tale" which was pretty much like how it was back then. You knew who they were and what they did, you just minded your own business
In the mid 90's I dated a divorced woman, who later told me what her ex was about.. That was the last time I ever called her, I don't need any visits from strangers
sloppy hitmen leave bodies behind that get found --thus the state or feds can prove the persons "dead" and set up a case that someone killed em -- with no body its hard to prove a "death' occured --its just a missing person case --who knows maybe the guy just "got tired of it all and left to make a "new" life" under a new fake name -- prove he didn't -without a body --it just as likely A as B with no body any decent wise guy lawyer can get you off -- uh maybe the guy went into witness protection ?
Ivan, I don't believe too many bodies are left due to sloppy work; rather it's a message to others that may decide to follow in that persons tracks. Gives them something to think about.
