This is why i LOVE metal detecting! I found something truly amazing yesterday. I didn't even realize what it is when I found it but very soon I got comments from museum that this is Virgin of the Apocalypse figure from 15th century! Material is apparently gold plated silver. It could be part of the ring or piece of book cover, I don't know yet, I will get answers from museum later on. This is one of the oldest finds for me and absolutely stunning piece of history :love10:

Beautiful! What does the back look like?

Now that's a great looking recovery, congrats.

It certainly has the appearance of a ring. Congratulations on a great find.

Congratulations on such an outstanding piece of history.

Very interesting artifact and how some of those in medieval times felt about the world around them. One wrong move and you and the rest of mankind will be severely punished from such a deity. Somehow there are those then and today who have not bought into that idea whatsoever and have suffered no consequences for the so called bad deeds they do.

1400's... wow! I enjoy finding religious artifacts, and that one is beautiful. Congrats on such an interesting and special find.

Really nice and interesting piece you found. Congratulations.

What a great find. Do keep us posted if the museum tells you more.
