melted lead?a bunch of it

I have found about 30 lbs. around old farm shops. big blobs of lead. I give it to local comercial fishermen to make weights with.

Molten lead was used to join cast iron sewer pipes and sometimes by roofers to join flashing.
Could have been used for a hundred other things.

Just wondering if any of you have ever found melted lead? What in heck would the lead be used for? It is not aluminum, its way to heavy!

Maybe a more obvious use of lead = Civil War Projectiles.... :icon_scratch: ;D

I have found several pounds in CW CAMPS.Where they used to make their own bullets. But like SandFiddler said could have been used for a couple of hundred of things.

Everytime I went to my Nephewes place I found tons of it.

He was up today & told me he found out
the Whole Area Was a Black Smiths Shop & Land.

Check the Possability of that being a Former Black Smiths

I used to make my own egg sinkers with lead that I got from the tire store.
Saved myself hundreds of dollars over the years.
I have friends who still cast thier own bullets for handguns and muzzloading rifles.

I thought it was silver! till i put a torch too it drip....drip... thers babit out there too used when bushing wore out they whould melt it and pour it were the bushing was.
