Hunted around one of the many lakes in Golden Gate Park today in San Francisco. Dug up a 1945-S Merc dime and 5 wheat pennies. There are still plenty of coins in this park, total take today was 83 coins.

From the land of the Bluenose.....interesting assortment. Must have dug in different parts of the park according to the copper colours. Pine tree acid really hard on copper. Glad you got out and did the dew. Nice scoff on the silver youz!

Actually you are right. I started in the sandy loam weed patches on the north side and worked my way south to the rich dark brown soil around the lake. Soil was very different in at least three different parts of the park. This park has all kinds of different soil compositions. Sometimes a silver coin will come out in perfect, other times it looks like it's been fried.

way to sniff out that silver! must be an adventure hunting a big park like that. im sure you have seen alot of crazy things while hunting there.

You sure got that right! I've seen hippies, hypodermic needles, condoms, drug infested weirdos, bums, crazy insane people. People walking around with rings in noses, ears, eyes, faces, etc. Crazy people yelling at me! S.F. is just a weird place at times. It's just a great place to hunt, 600+ silver coins I've taken out of there!

Great finds!! Sounds like it would be a fun place to hunt... I can't imagine how long it would take to hunt that whole park...
