I am fairly new to this and was presented a chance to buy 1000 mercury dimes from a old guy next door. None are graded and he just wants to sell the whole lot as silver. Whats a fair price to give for these? I would like to resale them for a profit so whats a good price to give him and then a good fair price to resale them? thanks

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR 1916-D dont melt it!!!!

Whats so good about a 1916D? like i said, im a cherry at coins but QUICKLY becoming an addict!!!

Get yourself the 2009 Redbook & go through it to find out what the key dates are. I personally wouldn't pay more then 10 X face, or $1000.00

Ditto

get the blue book ...thats what a dealer will pay you to buy.....the red book is what a dealer will sell to you for

Current melt value as of now is $1,053.99 for the 1000 coins. That is based on 14.57 silver spot.

Keep an eye out for:

1916d
1920
1921d

They are the "Key Dates". :icon_pirat:

Dont forget the 1942 over 41 overdate, major bucks there also.

I would'nt pay a buck each if you wanna make some profit yourself
