Mercury?

Do I need any sort of specific (plastic?) cement mixer for using mercury? I have nitric acid, is that good to use to get them separated?

Also I am wondering, is it just a rock in the bottom afterwards, and how much should I use per so many pounds of dirt?

The easiest way to separate gold from mercury is to retort.
If you don't mind losing the mercury then just burn it off. (outdoors Please, very deadly, Don't breathe in the fumes)
