Guess i shouldve said that its a very heavy metal that i found while metal detecting, which rules mica out. Thx for replying though.

Could be solder or lead. Especially if its shiny when you cut it

this is way too glittery. Most cut metals appear to have one side, one shine. It actually shines like a metal diamond if there was such a thing.

I rubbed it under a ceramic tile and no colored streak appeared so that eliminates pyrite and gold right?

Ok so its not that then... Maybe a place that buys gold will know

Take a piece and hit it if it shatters and is shinny then it's pyrite? The image you posted and my second one look to similar for it not to be? But there again I'm looking at a pic? There aren't to many minerals that don't leave a mark I would try it again? You need to rub it hard, your trying to make it into powder on the streak plate not just a scratch. I hope this helps? HH
