Boating is expensive for anything sizable.
Typically 1 MPG, lots of maintenance and prep, tow vehicle or slip/storage fees, etc.
Lots of fun though, and you're not stuck in a marina unless you want to be. You can be as adventurous as you want, with Lake Superior at the top of the danger list.
