I found a metal detector app for my iPhone. The download advised it has one for the Droid's too.
It's a bit cheesy, has ad's along the bottom, but dog-gone-it, darn thing actually works.
Now, it will never replace my Pro-pointer, but it's good for a little fun.
It only works on ferrous metal, and it has to be very close. You get better results is your phone is naked (out of the case/holder/shell)
…and it needs at least the 4S or smarter smart phone. Something to do with a sensor.
