Metal detecting in Curacao

Hello everyone! My Wife and I are headed to Curacao on Sunday.
Hoping to find a few trinkets while I sample some fine Rum as well!

I,ve been to Curacao,courtesy of the U.S.Marines. I can,t recall the name of the port we visited,50 years ago.Nice place and great rum,beer too. The port we visited had a oil refinery,I recall that.Pretty scenery. Since you,re going with your wife I won,t regale you with stories about the place in the hills! Have fun!

Hello again everyone! We just got back from our trip to Curacao.
I did find several Antillean Guilder coins, a few pieces of copper tubing, and a rather odd silver ring.
I will post pictures after work today.
The Silver ring I found, had several “Nazi” markings on it, a Swastika.
among other things, but most curiously, the name “H.Himmler”
As in Hitlers top man. Wether this is Legit or some Neo Nazi thing I dont know , I’ll let you guy’s decide.

Here they are, let me know what you think …..sorry these are late, I bought a pre-packaged Chicken salad sandwich at Miami International airport, while waiting for our connecting flight, long story short,
I ended up with Salmonella poisoning, and spent the last five days in the Hospital.

Im heading there in July. I was think of bringing my detector with me. I don't have much experience with it but thought it would be fun to play with. I've got a Garrett AT Max. Not the best toy but it works. Can you point me in a good direction to go try? I was thinking of renting a ATV and go explore the east side. Ive never been there before and need something to do while the wife and kids sunbathe. I cant sit still long enough to soak up the rays.

Himmler gave out those type of rings to his SS buddies. Usually around Christmas time. Have no idea if yours is authentic. If it is would be worth big bucks. Anything related to the SS commands high prices. I would definitely get an expert appraisal.

Mr.Boyle just emailed me back, the ring is a replica. So, I’ll probably sell it for melt value (if in fact is is Silver)

Even as a replica it is surely worth more than melt. I think you would do better selling it as a replica. ?
