Metal detecting Laws in Mexico

Does anyhone know who to contact in Mexico about the laws on metal detecting?
I have heard of some problems there and would like to get written permission.

been there , done that.
i could not get anyone to tell me what the laws were for my last trip.
if you are on a beach no one is going to say any thing

go crawling around some ruins and the federalies will be all over your ass fast.
