Here is a link to a new MD show starting tomorrow night on the National Geographic channel. I'm going to watch for sure, but I hope this doesn't turn out like all the other shows where every person in America is going to buy a detector. We will start seeing detectorist on every corner, more laws and regulations due to the popularity of the show? Soon we will only be able to detect for clad, LOL. It looks like it might be a good show though. Maybe it will be a good watch for a few episodes and then get taken off the air. Hope this doesn't turn out to bite us detectorists.

Wow this show looks stupid. Maybe the price of Ace250's will go up after this and I can sell mine for $500! I wonder how much of the "treasure" is planted there. I hate how shows like this glamorize the word "treasure". They better also show how many cans and scrap iron you have to work with before you find "treasure".

luckily this is on natl geo.not as watched as hist or dsc.

who are the 2 featured hunters. never heard of.

looks like they went w couple no name hunters

to save dough. u can bet theyll be findin 20x the treasure and little trash.

planted finds.yep.

This can't be good for us !

I could be mistaken but I remember ChicagoRon mentioning on one of his video's from last fall that he was working with National Geographic on a television project. If this is correct the Chicago beaches will look like the WWII invasion of Normandy.

Not to worry, the project he was working on was about mudlarking on the Thames river in London. No shows on local beaches as far as I can tell...everything was filmed on the Thames in London.

This pains me to say, but I actually liked the show. No silver found except for one little ring. Lots of trash in the first episode. Didn't appear to have anything planted. I thought the two guys were good, and funny. I liked the terminology they used. I just hope that everyone in Americta doesn't get a detector now.

I'm really disappointed but not that surprised that neither of the first two shows made any mention of FILLING THE HOLES and making the area look like it was before they got there.

That's a good point. They probably should display the code of ethics in the beginning or the end for a few seconds.

I was thinking the same thing watching the show. The little disclaimer at the end of the second episode that there are laws regarding collecting and that permission is needed from land owners seemed to be an after thought. Would be nice at the beginning of the show.

Also, if I ever do get out to hunt with any of you here (I hope to), I'm not licking a jelly fish or putting on a dress and riding a bike.
