I posted elsewhere about a project underway on a mining claim with my partner on Vancouver Island Canada. About 5000 ft up heavily forested (gravels, sand, sediments, soil) we are looking at washes (gold traps) that needs a detector to hit the 3 foot level (1m). We can reduce that depth my clearing away overburden (as suggested here). However, there are many washes to investigate. I am considering a Garrett ATX. However, on their site this detector was introduced in

"2013 Garrett releases the fully waterproof ATX pulse-induction metal detector. It is highly sensitive on tiny gold and extends detection depth in the most extreme mineralized soils."

Wondering about whether more recent technology would be a better bet. Our need is one off so to speak. We are only interested in this one application for a gold detector.

... thanks in advance
