Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
We have all thought about it! What is it that drives us? The thrill, anticipation? Oh man, it makes us delirious to the point of confusion(we forget detector, digger, pin pointer, batteries, etc,Lol). We just think treasure or hear the word and we see ourselves swing'n that coil. Yes, we even dream of it!
The thrill is knowing that just under the surface only feet away is excitement, a dream come true. An adrenaline rush like no other! The anticipation to see that gleam of gold, that sparkle of silver that makes your heart pump, your palms sweaty, even shake! You hold it in your hands and you want to scream to the world, I found it!!
This is "why" I love metal detecting. After 20+ years I still get this same "rush" of the anticipation of finding " treasure". That treasure could be anything from our first whty to a gold coin!
So, let's go dig some dirt, sift some sand and find some treasure! C ya out there! Happy New Year!

yup! It's addicting!

I've had my Ace 250 since March of this year(2013) and it's been very addicting ,I've found over $12 in coins, from either my front yard, fields and tot-lots and 2 rings.I'm not as good as some of y'all but I'm trying.I'm also addicted to finding coins above the dirt, such as parking lots, the street, the Coin Star reject slot and the change slots in self checkouts at grocery stores.I right all my finds in a journal and my wife says it makes me a happier person.:laughing7:

I have always likened it to opening presents on Christmas. Anticipation, hope, wishin' until it's opened and new package of underwear reveals itself. Or, that much prayed for toy! :)

The anticipation is what keeps us coming back. But it's the aspect that it really IS possible for lowly ole us, to find gold, silver, rubies, emeralds, diamonds! Doubloons!!! ;)

Yeah, gotta love it!

Well, it's not the pull tabs bottle tops!
The thrill for sure! I love uncovering something that was lost some time ago .. a coin, a toy, a whatever! And then there's the $ if your lucky enough to get a great spot ... I fell 47 pre 65 quarters short of paying for my detector this year ??? But I didn't buy it until late in the summer (I am hording all other finds lol)
Now that's it's cold ... I enjoy the research for next spring! I just found some old pictures of a summer carnival by me that has been shut down since 1961 on a large piece of land in the woods .. I mapped it out (found dilapidated structures that appear to match those in the photo's took a quick walk through the area it appears to be untouched.
Regularly reading this site during the cold weather is also a lot of fun! Where else would I have learned (I found it in my back yard!)
I'm looking forward to the spring!
Happy Hunting everyone and the best of luck to you in 2014! :headbang:

"Regularly reading this site during the cold weather is also a lot of fun!"

Do you mean "reading" as in telepathy?
