Can you help, A man brought me a metal detector to fix. The brand is( metal detector). A small screen on it,takes 2 9 Volt batteries, small coil, momentary buttons on compartment where electronics are. Does any one know who makes this Detector? I cannot post pics, I am old and Tech. challenged. It is fixed now, wire off on board. It would be nice to have a manual for it. he is giving it to his Grandson.
Thanks, Mike

with the limited info and no pictures, it is next to impossible for anyone here to help. I would suggest you go to Google and search using the term 'generic metal detector' and then click on 'images' to see you find a match. You might be able to find some info on the unit you are talking about. good luck....

The color of the control box would help along with what the screen has on it (like is it a meter or digital readout). The composition of the box will help as well and where the batteries are placed inside the control box and how the access door works. For example, White's Electronics made a lot of different models of metal detectors from 1950 until now but through much of the 1960's and well into the 1980's, the control boxes were mostly rectangular, were made out of aluminum and were painted a medium aqua/blue and the battery access door was on the rear. Before that, I am not totally sure of the composition of the control boxes. After that, they start going to plastics and composites with digital LCD screens.
