Metal detector trivia question?

As any one ever seen a silver ring quite like the one I have attached to this thread? If so tell me what you think it is I am curious to know what people think it is I know the history behind it do you? I found it my first time metal detecting!!!!

It;s a coin ring.....Can't tell what coin though.......Tell us the history please

It's a coin ring, probably quarter. My ex father-in-law made one. Cut a hole for your finger then beat it with the back of a stainless spoon till shaped finish with file. He did one.... I did one when I was 21/22, over 40 yrs ago. Looked neat. TTC

Well it's a quarter my grandfather made a ring out of when he was in ww II he had told me the story of how he lost it. When he just got back from overseas he had been working behind his house and he had the ring on an he was moving brush and in the mean time lost it and could never find it . So a year before he passed away I went and rented a Garrett Ace 150 I was helping him find an old dump that was behind his house supposedly to clean it up and I came across the ring while looking for the dump and from then on I have been hooked to metal detecting ever since. When he passed away the ring was placed in my possession the ring size is about a 10.
