I've had to develop a real partnership with my low-tech hardware: I have to really listen, as if through the MD & to the target. I must thumb the sensitivity and discriminator dials while switching modes & changing coil position and orientation, studying before i dig, working as a pair. .....the Tango. In comparison, I watch some folks with the VDI-crop of machines & it's as if the machine confuses more than it helps. The screen bleeps incessantly, acts as a wall between me and the target & isn't all that accurate. .....the Twist. Truth be told, if the Tracker IV had more depth (and more selective discrimination), I don't know of a reason why I wold need to upgrade.

DT,

I think you're finally figuring it out.....lol.....as long as the machine finds metal use it to the max and the keepers will come....save up the clad you find and for that matter silver and gold if you don't wish to keep it and upgrade if and when you're current machine has given you enough finds to pay for an upgrade.

I still contend that gridding off your sites.....going slow and doing the overlaps will find you lots of stuff regardless of the machine used....fine tune your detecting skills and you'll be that much better if/when the upgrade comes around.
