Metal Detectors

[High Desert Hunter]

Living in the desert, and not having ready access to water, I am considering the future purchase of a metals detector. I do not have a lot of disposable income, but I do not want to buy a completely useless one either. So I am looking for some recommendations? About how much will I need to spend to weed out the garbage? Thanks
