Metal Stand/goblet? Help ID'ing appericated

Hi T'neters. Looking for help on an ID. My dad found this in the bottom of a box of glassware from an auction. The rest of the stuff in the box was between 1950's-1920's. I was thinking maybe its a lantern stand or something? No markings anywhere that I could find...Thanks for looking!

I liked this idea too for a minute, but after some searching, I think it's simply an 1920s era (Greek Revival) style bowl.

What is it made of?
