Another warm day with a cool breeze.
We carried on gridding the big grid for 4.5 hours until it slow up so much I asked Cru'dad to move back to the Metal Working area. We are now so far away from it, we had to get in the car & drive there. We spend 1.5 hours in the main area & got 17 scrappies. (pretty good for a searched area)
6 hours:

18 Scrappies
Tudor Button
Silver Watch Winder
Medieval Buckle & Swivel
Bronze Awl?
Roman Hob-Nail
Bit of a Roman Fibula
2 Hammered - Ed I penny & Henry III Cut Shortcross - I was pretty sure we would get at least 1 hammered as we had none last trip. (took 25 mins)

Cru', it's"hammer time!"
Sorry, I couldn't help myself...not sure if you're familiar with M.C. Hammer...anyway...
Too bad the scrappies can't be cleaned up....what do you do with those?

Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ‘

Yes, used to dance to 'U can't touch this' as a kid at school.

The scrappies with nothing on them goes in a big tub. The ones with enough detail are separated & given away to kids or when we do historical talks.

Shame the shortcross was whole (now we are unsure of the moneyer) because the spelling of London on the reverse is a type we need - LVNDEN

The watch winder is an interesting design & our first solid silver type.

Getting a first for you in something that is commonly dug as the winders are, is great.
