i was walking around in the foothills called rattlesnake ridge yesterday and picked up a rock that was heavier than most rocks its size and looked "different". it did not have the burnt crust of a meteorite (anyway like a new meteorite) but a magnet was drawn to it, so i took it home. i used my gm/vsat on it and it sounded off like a good piece of gold. unless the gold or some other small piece of metal is inside of it, i believe that i have a meteorite. i will check with the local college to see if we have a professor worth his salt. wayne

good luck that sounds very cool jd

Sounds like that walk could have paid off! What did it turn out to be? I found what I thought was a impact sight once, but have never been able to re find it. That was before GPS! dmurr

Good luck with your college "Proffesor" Wayne, it's better to learn things first hand experience and study, that implies to " Experts" jibberish...
