Mexican Beach find - Brass trigger??

Hello everyone,

I found this in about seven feet of water, in the ocean, off a beach. It looks like some sort of trigger. Also, it looks like it is slightly irregular, and maybe not machine made.

Can anyone take a wild guess as to what this might be? Something from a boat? Old fishing pole trigger? Old gun trigger? Any guesses or positive ID's would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That is a cam lock fitting from a hose end piece. It is the piece with the split ring through it.
