That's what I'm trying to figure out. I have a similar pendant
that's marked taxco but missing the Sterling hallmark

I can read 925 and maybe aps on one side and Mexico on the other.

Pinedas work seems to be more modernist abstract than this piece. Alvarez was closer but nothing listed on ebay as of right now.
